COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will provide a foundational understanding of Computerized Accounting and its importance within an organization. It will examine some of the basic and most common operations of the Peachtree Accounting software. This is not an accounting course though some accounting knowledge will enhance your learning experience.

AIMS OF THE COURSE

This course takes you through the fundamentals of setting up and customizing a Peachtree company database. It offers an introduction to the subject of Accounting by explaining what the role entails as well as theories and practical approach that can be applied in order to improve the overall operations of the organization and accounting system. The aims are:

  • To record business transactions using an accounting software.
  • To be able to retrieve reports on hand at any in time.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Identify, describe and explain the importance of the key functions of Computerized Accounting.
  • How to set up a company using the computer software Sage 50.
  • How information can be easily retrieved from the use of this software.
  • Identify the different type of report that can be created at any point during an accounting period.
  • Setup a company and input all relevant data including customers, vendors, chart of accounts
  • Setup user administrative privileges.

Our Peachtree Accounting course is designed to assist students in understanding how to record and classify accounting data within a computerized accounting system.
