Course Overview:

This course introduces students to Windows Server 2016 Active Directory. Upon completion, students should be able to perform tasks related to planning, configuring, implementing and administering an Active Directory Infrastructure in an Enterprise. They should have an understanding and be able to implement a File Server, Print Server and VPN server. The student should be familiar with PowerShell and be able to perform simple administrative tasks via the command line.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the logical and physical components of Active Directory.
  • Create and configure a forest and domain structure by using an Active Directory infrastructure design.
  • Plan and implement an organizational unit structure.
  • Plan and implement Active Directory user, group, and computer accounts.
  • Plan and implement a Group Policy strategy to centrally manage users and computers in an enterprise.
  • Plan and implement a File Server, Print Server and VPN Server
  • Administer Active Directory and Group Policies via the RSAT tools
  • Use simple PowerShell commands to administer Active Directory
